Myrtle Clark Outstanding Mathematics Educator Award

About the Award

The Myrtle Clark award was established by a former student to honor Miss Myrtle Clark, a former mathematics teacher at Lincoln Northeast High School and Jackson High School. The award is given to recognize excellence in mathematics teaching and provide a source of funding for LPS mathematics educators for summer school courses to advance teaching skills or for pursuit to attend a professional development conference or opportunity.

Applying for the Award

Application Open: The month of February, annually
Award Amount: $1,000

Criteria: This award is available to Lincoln Public Schools Mathematics Educators.

  • Mathematics educator for Lincoln Public Schools

  • Commitment to excellence in mathematics teaching

  • Interest in pursuing summer school courses to advance teaching skills or an advanced degree in mathematics or attendance at a professional development conference

Nominating Process: Nominations may be submitted by any individual or group. Self-nominations are accepted.

Selection Process: The selection committee will be facilitated by the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools Scholarships and Awards Committee, with input from the LPS Curriculum Specialist for Mathematics.
