Alexa Burmeister

Hartley Elementary
Speech/Language Pathologist
Nominated By: Principal Rob Rickert

Alexa works hard to ensure that all students in her grade are learning. She has the attitude that she does not want to waste any time that could be used for student learning. If her students have two extra minutes, they work on individualized flashcards. Alexa created flashcards for students to work on reading or math skills. Students work with a partner to practice math facts, phonics skills, or Greek word root meanings, or whatever would benefit them the most. She exhibits the belief that all students can learn and that it is the teacher’s responsibility to help students learn in the most efficient way possible. Not only do the students in her classroom benefit from her desire to constantly improve her instruction, but she has helped her teammates to grow and also improve their instruction. She cares deeply for her students and advocates for them when needed. We are lucky to have Alexa at Hartley!
