Becky Boellstorff

Zeman Elementary School
Speech Language Pathologist
Nominated by: Principal Rik Devney

Becky Boellstorff exemplifies the hard work and compassion that align with our core values at Zeman Elementary. As a Speech Language Pathologist, Becky supports the development of a large number of scholars with a multitude of needs. Becky approaches each day as a new opportunity to help students meet their goals. Becky has a strong work ethic and will do anything needed to make sure she sees growth in her students, which results in a high rate of dismissals from special education. Becky sees each student as an individual and changes her services to meet unique needs. Students love working with Becky and ask what they have to do to continue to work with her, even if they’ve met their goals and are ready to be dismissed. She has a passion for inclusion and works to ensure all students have equal opportunities. Becky also has a collaborative approach to her work which strengthens the impact on others. She is a team player and is always the first to ask how she can help. Becky will stay after hours to help a colleague prepare new materials for a student who may or may not be on her caseload. Becky wants to see both staff and students succeed and involves all stakeholders in decision making. Becky is highly organized and has all paperwork done at an exemplary level ahead of the due date. Becky has great communication with parents, staff and administration and openly asks for and accepts feedback to ensure she is always doing her best. Becky goes above and beyond in every capacity of her job and it is our honor to nominate her as Zeman's Inspire Award recipient.
