2021 Inspire Award Winners

Blake Schlegelmilch

Lux Middle School
8th Grade
Nominated By: Principal Duane Dohmen

When one thinks about a person who exemplifies every characteristic we hope for in a student, Blake checks all the boxes. First and foremost, he is extremely respectful towards his peers and the adults with whom he works. Blake is a free thinker in that he has a strong moral compass, and is able to navigate within his own boundaries without letting the more popular opinion sway his ways. Instead, he rises above. Additionally, he is responsible and trustworthy in his conduct. Homework is completed in a timely and thorough manner, and his integrity is of great importance to him. He works hard and puts forth his best effort. Blake gets along with most anyone. He's soft-spoken and mild-mannered. During this pandemic year, we've looked out and seen his eyes peeking over his mask - attentive and focused on the day's agenda. It's an honor to have a student with such personal prowess in our classrooms.
