Elissa Rush

Park Middle School
School Nurse
Nominated By: Principal Charlotte Everts

The health office has always a busy place for our building, however, COVID has created an even bigger impact that the health office has in keeping the school running smoothly. Elissa has worked extremely hard to make sure that all staff, students and families feel supported and taken care of. Elissa has handled all of the COVID protocols, changes, and volume of students with grace and compassion. She helps families navigate quarantines, positive COVID cases and safety concerns. COVID does not mean that the other student needs have disappeared. Elissa continues to help students navigate health issues, medications, anxiety, bumps and bruises and self-care. She is positive and caring with everyone that she comes in contact with. Elissa truly cares about the students and families that she serves. She works closely with administration and the counseling department to partner while providing wrap around services. Park students open up to Elissa and share when they have concerns or issues that they need help with. They trust her to help them and that she will take care of them. Park Middle School is fortunate to have such an empathetic, caring and hard-working Nurse. We greatly appreciate her and everything that she does every day, both seen and unseen to make Park safe for everyone.
