2022 Inspire Award Winners

2022

Julie Breitkreutz

Everett Elementary
Kindergarten Teacher
Nominated By: Principal Mike Long

Ms. Breitkreutz successfully establishes a classroom environment that allows student academic and social growth to consistently occur each school year. This is accomplished by providing small size reading groups, communicating strategies with families to improve reading, utilizing para-educators to work with students individually and in small groups, and collaborating with her colleagues.

She spends a lot of time establishing, monitoring, and refining classroom procedures and expectations. Classroom management is strong as students know what is expected of them. This is very important in a Kindergarten classroom with a lot of activities provided in small increments of time and a lot of student movement.

Instructional strategies which include modeling, guided practice, direct instruction, and partner work are evident during instruction. The lesson's objectives and essential questions are used to introduce skills that are taught. Instruction is adjusted based on evidence from checks for understanding. Student accountability for participation is monitored with effective active participation strategies.

Ms. Breitkreutz works hard and is truly committed to making our school a better place. I would wholeheartedly recommend her for the Inspire Award.
