Zach Watkins

Elliott Elementary
Special Education Para Professional
Nominated By: Principal Kathleen Dering

Zach is a positive male role model for all kids in the Elliott Elementary. The kids love him, we truly couldn’t ask for a better role model.

Zach is always so patient and kind. He is consistently calm and has a demeanor that is safe for kids in crisis. He holds kids accountable with kindness. He was a leader in a recent meeting with teachers, a parent, and a student and was a strong advocate for the student. He is flexible and willing to do whatever task is needed. He brings a great perspective to our SSC room and I have learned so much from him this year which in turn has helped me with how I respond to some of our students.

Zach goes above and beyond every day for the school community and all students! He is always willing to do anything asked of him. He takes the initiative to go work with students whenever needed. He has amazing relationships with all students. He is constantly interacting with them on a positive note and wanting to learn about them and engage with them. He also works so well with them when things are tough. Students listen to Zach when he gives advice and are often seeking him for their wants and needs. He has been an amazing role model for our school community. Not only do the kids get to learn from him but as a staff member I have get to collaborate and learn from him as well!
